Rekall on Windows - odd behaviour

I have installed Rekall on a Windows 2000 PC (fully up tp date with all service packs and critical updates).
When I start Rekall, I get the usual "you have days left in your trial", click "try", then Rekall minimises itself to the task bar. I cannot access Rekall at all, so have not been able to configure my database connection settings.
As it stands, I cannot give any feedback on a product I cannot use.

Which version did you download? If I remember correctly the version of the software package used to produce to V2.1.1 demo manged to break the exec file in the way you mentions above. Why don't you try Rekall V2.2.0beta4. Although it carries the beta tag it only contains one very obseure bug which only shows itself under one very uncommon situation.
BTW I won't be producing anymore demos until I have finished the work on my own "TrailPeriod" code, because I am fed up with third party "demomakers" which end up breaking the executable file and which are limited to Windows only

I thought so. Exeshield, the protection software used to make the demo, was behaving badly at the time. But since I have upgraded the same problem has gone away
