We are pleased to announce the release of Rekall V2.2.1 stable for Linux and Windows
In addition to this finial release we have released updated Rekall ODBC and DB2 Interface drivers. The above items are only available to users who have a valid subscription. We will not be releasing a demo version of Rekall V2.2.0 until after the roll out of the stable release.
Rekall for Windows Run Time V2.2.0 commercial edition is now ready for prime time. Please visit the On-Line Shop for Pricing details. A demo edition and run time editions of the additional plugin drives will follow shortly
Work on Rekall V2.3 is already in progress. We would like to point out that from this moment in time only members of the "Rekall Club" will have access to beta releases, so sign up for a subscription now to avoid disapointment. Detail are available from the "On-Line Shop"
For people who like living on the bleeding edge. Quite a lot is planned for 2.3.x. The main addition thus far is a form design toolbox (personally, I dislike toolboxes, but they seem to be popular) and a bunch of control creation wizards. Some of this stuff is incomplete, please feel free to try this release but maybe not in a production environment, though all *should* be OK when running forms.
Rekall is also moving to using scons (www.scons.org) as a build system, since we have finally had it with autotools. Beta0 doens't quite cut it, but Beta1 should.
Rekall on the Web
We are working on web enabling Rekall Forms and Report. Pretty soon you will be able to use Rekall to design Forms and Reports that can be used, in the traditional manner, to produce desktop GUI application or produce web server applications with the same functionality as your desktop application. You will find an early prototype at Rekall Revealed
Please Note: Since this demonstration application is continuously evolving it might not always be available or you may well be presented with a list of errors.
Here is a quick update on our progress with Rekall-On-The-Web. We have now figured out to how to convert Qt geometry settings to HTML absolute positioning. Our next job will be to produce a fully functional web enabled version of the Rekall Demo application. You will be able to insert new rows, delete unwanted rows and update rows. We reckon this new feature will be introduced in V2.3.x at some point during its life cycle, so please keep an eye on this page for further announcements
SQLite added to list of Database plugin drivers
We would like to thank Brian Harring of Gentoo for contributing a SQLite database plugin drivers. The present driver only works with the Linux version of Rekall and it is based on SQLite V2.18.15. We are working on a second SQLite driver based on SQLite V3.0.x. There will be no public release of the SQLite driver until we have builds for all versions of SQLite and all platforms supported by Rekall
